The Cozy & Smart Life of A Plant Lover

by AlvinChen on Jun 12, 2023
Bailey is a home-style content creator from Canada, she spent much time doing home projects after moving into a new home and created an account dedicated to sharing these with more peeps. In writing this blog, we wanted to learn more about the way of living a kind of cozy life, it also includes the quality of life that Yoolax smart shades have brought to her. Bailey specializes in cozy home styling, while she also loves nature, travel, and animals. To learn more about Bailey's experience, we chatted with her.🎤 Q: Is the content creator your full-time job? A: No, I am a teacher by day. I teach grade 7 Language Arts & Social and also Foods & Leadership. 📚 What started out as a hobby & a creative outlet has turned into a viable side hustle and passion project through Bailey at Home, and I’m so grateful.   Q: How did you get started? A: This whole journey started for me back in April of 2021, when I laid awake next to my sleeping husband thinking about starting an Instagram account to document our home projects. We had moved into our home in December 2019, and I had been frequently posting about the updates we were making on my personal account. Several of my friends and family began coming to me for advice, and urging me to start my own home decor account. That sleepless night, I was in my fifth stint of quarantine - being a teacher at that time meant that we were isolated every time there was a case in our classes - and I was bored. I was burnt out. I was somehow completely underwhelmed and overwhelmed with my job at the exact same time. I was in need of a creative outlet. So, at about 1 AM on a random Wednesday night, I pulled out my phone and started @bailey.at.home. Bailey is a big fan of traveling✈️ Usually my Husband and I save up and take a big trip in the summer because we’re both teachers. Our most recent adventure was England, Scotland, and Ireland and we loved it. I can’t wait to get back out there. Glacier trip with friends; An unforgettable trip with parents (and our hobbit feet) in the Sahara Desert;Visited Downton Abbey on a solo trip to England... Bailey is a huge plant lover! She has around 80 plants in their house and it’s a bit of a problem. 🪴If you need advice when it comes to plants, Bailey is happy to answer for you, she genuinely loves when followers send her the plant questions. She is also a huge animal lover, has a dog named Paisley and a cat named Shiva. 🐶🐱Life is better with these lovely friends, isn't it? There is a huge south-facing window in Bailey's dining room, which provides the best sunlight in the house (most of the plants in the home are in this space); and the kitchen has a great window too! Since Bailey has a need for window shades with light filtering, light control and intelligent control, she chose Yoolax Motorized Half-Shading Roller Shades, and let's see what this brings to her life. Click here for a quick look at one of Bailey's shoots   We mentioned above that Bailey's dining room has a huge south-facing window with strong light, so using Motorized Half-Shading Shades makes it very easy to filter the light, and with many small plants in the dining room, Bailey can always use the smart feature to control the percentage of light for the plants when she's out on a trip/teaching a class. Also, they help to keep your home safe, we can open the shades during the day and close them at night, giving the appearance that someone is home. And she no longer has to struggle to pull the heavy annoying builder-grade slat blinds, just easily control shades with the push of a remote button or Alexa voice control. With these smart little helpers in your kitchen, you won't have to worry about adjusting shades manually while cooking or cleaning up after meals. Another great point brought to Bailey is the pet friendly! No worries about the dog and cat being pulled/tripped by the cords of traditional window shades. We hope our life can be happier, more colorful and more comfortable because of these beautiful hobbies and things. Relax your life! And thanks for Bailey's support, check out her Instagram here.

The office renovation of a photographer who loves nature and technology

by OliviaOlivia on Apr 19, 2023
Ben Mackay is a native of Sydney, Australia with a passion for travel and photography. His adventures have taken him all around the world and more recently with his young family. After many years of working in marketing with large companies like Red Bull and Coca-Cola, Ben took his passion for travel and photography to a new level and ventured into a full-time creative role. Recently he is doing a setup update for his home office, he chose Yoolax. Ben created an office space that combines nature and technology 🖼️He organizes his shoots into artwork frames that are printed on walls around the world, including his own office, letting people enjoy the beach sea-washed natural tones at home. Ben really loves how the art really feels! He thinks it's easily one of the best things you can do to appreciate the art that you do. 🪴There are also a few plants on Ben's desk. He just loves how plants change the space and make an area look so much cozier and homely. Somehow, He'll probably get a few more soon, plants would make the whole space nicely! 🔋The lamp and desk in his office are all intelligent. Well, he'll never stop searching. Another thing that he has in the office is Yoolax's new blind he has on the window. Ben said: Up until now. I went from standard blinds to block-out drapes, to sheer curtains, and I think I've found the right balance. I'm using these zebra-style shades from Yoolax in combination with the sheer curtains. Whenever Ben steps into the office and is ready to start work, he can voice control Alexa to turn on the blinds. How pleasant is that? Of course, you can also plan your working time the day before, and set blinds to open regularly, so that blinds can silently advance your work! Shade systems for offices can help you minimize disruptive glare and maintain convenient and eye-friendly indoor environments, letting you concentrate on work with peace of mind. Ben often travels outside for photography, so there will be situations where he is not at home. Yoolax can provide you with solutions for controlling the light of plants. Natural sunlight is an important part of plant health and is important that you can bring in the right amount of sunlight without burning or heating up the plants too much. Caring for plants requires a lot of time and dedication and being able to automate some of the care such as lighting is a big highlight. And when you are not at home, you can also control the intake of sunlight to plants through our product's remote control function. According to energy.gov, “about 30% of a home’s heating energy is lost through windows. Insulation from products like blackout shades, and zebra blinds can provide maximum heat-trapping. Whether it's cold or hot outside, the right blinds can prevent the loss of inside air to the outside. This means a lower energy bill and a more comfortable environment inside. Q&A Q: You will feel more or less tired when you return home from your travel photography outside. Yoolax is dedicated to bringing everyone a comfortable and relaxing smart life, do you feel it?A: I definitely feel my space becoming more relaxed and a place for me to really enjoy doing my work in. The blinds have really added to the feeling I was looking to create in my office. Q: People and nature are in a symbiotic relationship, you share the nature works you shoot with your followers and turn them into artwork frames for people to enjoy, connecting people with nature, what direction do you usually share with people?A: I love showing nature to my audience. I think everyone needs to feel peace in their life. If I can help by showing them some of the beautiful places I capture or by giving them some of my own personal tips, then this makes me happy. Q: Can you tell us what is your view on the relationship between technology, nature and comfortable living? You should often start a conversation around them too! A: I’ve always loved technology. I love how it makes things easier and simple. Combining my love for nature and technology is basically how I’ve organised my home office space. I’ve always been an advocate of acquiring new technology that makes your life better or if the current things you use aren’t good enough but also being smart with your decisions. Living comfortably and enjoying the simplicity of things in life shouldn’t have to be expensive, it should hopefully make things better and that’s always a wise investment. Q: Why you love Yoolax? A: First, because they offer multiple looks. In the one, I can have a solid, almost fully blocked out position, or go with a stripy zebra look, and then basically everything in between. But also, because, I have a set routine for these things to operate. They open at sunrise to allow some light for my plants, but I've also set them up with a voice command so I can open and shut them just by talking to Google too. Second, they come custom-made to the right size. All you need to do is just enter the size of your window into Amazon, and then they'll just look after you. Thirdly, they also have a remote you can use anywhere. This window shape, for me, is one of my favorite things in the office. Now I feel I am in this super fancy, functional hotel, but without the costs of what it would usually be to have these things inst I've stayed in two ridiculously fancy hotel rooms in the past which have had something similar, and those vibes immediately returned to me as soon as I started playing with these things.

A warm couple DIY renovation old house - Nik&Alivia

by hejune on Sep 27, 2022
Nik and Alivia are a blissful couple, who love doing DIY home and remodeling projects, they accumulated 1.5 million followers on TikTok. Currently, they are renovating their 1930s home. We worked together and provided motorized&manual Shangri-La shades on all 26 windows of their home in recent times: Click here to view "A year and a half ago, we bought our 1st house together and decided to remodel it. This home is exactly what we wanted——a 1930s brick home in the heart of Tulsa, we plan to transform this home while keeping its old vintage charm."   "With no experience, we wanted to show everyone it's possible that, even with the full-time job, and with never doing a single project before, you can take on massive home projects. We felt way over our heads. But ultimately, here we are, eight months later, in the house is almost complete. Oh yeah. And we did it all while she was pregnant, and the babies do in only two weeks.“ Since we want to know more about Nik & Alivia's experience about our products and DIY home decoration, we asked them a few questions, which may inspire and help you who are also interested and passionate about home decoration: Q: Do either of you have a background in anything related to houses? A: No, I'm a Peds nurse and Nik is in sales. Nik has always been a very handy person but all of these projects are a first for him.   Q: How do you have time between full-time jobs? A: Nik works normal hours Monday-Friday& I work 3 times a week night shift. So the nights I work, Nik stays up till about two workings & then we work together on weekends and days off.   Q: How did you get the knowledge to do these projects? A: We have researched a lot! Google&YouTube are our best friends lol. We have also reached out to friends and family in our community for advice and help!   Q: Do you live in the home while you're renovating? If so, advise for living in construction? A: We didn't move in until we finished scraping the popcorn, painting the entire house, taking out a wall, and putting the floors in one room so we could sleep in there! My advice is to plan time at the beginning of each week that you & your family agree is work time so that everyone can prepare for the noise, inconvenience, etc. Also, try to have a space that you can be in that isn't being worked on or changed! Ours was our guest room. Q: Why did you choose smart shades and the brand Yoolax? A: First of all, we have no experience in DIY, and facing such a large project of home renovation, it will push us to the limit, so we need a smart system to help us, after all, this is the era of smart technology, not 20 Century, we need to keep up with the times, which can help us a lot. Fortunately, we found the brand Yoolax and chose it after comparing various smart shades. Price, quality and service are all our selection criteria.   Q: How do you feel about installing Yoolax's motorized Shangri-La shades? A: I will admit that Nik is much better at this hands-on installation than I am. Yoolax provides a very detailed installation video tutorial, which is very simple to follow step by step, even I can complete the installation by myself. We need to praise Yoolax for their service :)   Q: How do you feel after using Yoolax's motorized Shangri-La shades? A: Because we have a lot of windows, it would be very troublesome and laborious to manually pull shades one by one, so motorized shades can save us a lot of futile work, and only need a remote control or voice to control one or more shades . It is no exaggeration to say that we fell in love with smart home because of Yoolax. Intelligence makes life easier and more fun. Never tried Motorized shades before, it's really nice to be able to control them comfortably.   Q: What attitude do you maintain towards smart home products? Have our products made any changes to your thoughts? A: We love smart home features! They make life simple, and fun! We had never tried smart blinds before, but we really love them. They look and work great, and it's so convenient to be able to sit in comfort and control them! Through this cooperation with Nik & Alivia, we have a better understanding of this loving couple. We are also very proud that Yoolax can bring practical comfort, convenience and brand-new life experience to customers. Yoolax motorized Shangri-la Sheer Shade brings users the double enjoyment of home aesthetics and higher quality of life. Yoolax motorized Shangri-la Sheer Shade is the best choice for maintaining privacy and controlling light. When we look at the scenery from the house, we can get the maximum view. At the same time, outsiders cannot see the inside through the window, and it creates a hazy scene through the shadow of tulle. Make privacy protection to the extreme while maintaining your view of the outdoors. It adopts a three-layer structure design, two layers of veil combined with slats, and the dimming function is realized through the dislocation of the lampshade and the mesh. It can not only enjoy the scenery outside the window, but also introduce natural light into the indoor room, so that the indoor and outdoor scenes are integrated, as if in the art of painting. Match with voice control systems such as Alexa/Google Home. Such as APP remote control, timing, group control and more intelligent functions are waiting for you to explore. Each of our products is tailor-made to the millimeter. All our creations are unique, conceived and designed according to your needs. We are committed to providing you with "natural, green and energy-saving" products to create smart technology and comfortable home life.
